Math
At Alexander Ferguson School, Mathematics is a rich, rigorous, relevant and recursive curriculum where students engage in exploration designed to promote a concept of number and number sense.
Math is more than memorizing formulas and performing calculations. Math involves:
- Highly practical and hands-on skills
- Engaging, relevant work solved in collaboration with peers
- Activities that will stretch the understanding of the abstract and theoretical
- Using technology to develop, demonstrate and communicate mathematical thinking
