General Health Measures
In all matters of health, CBE takes direction from Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services. Find out how you can reduce the spread and lessen the impact of illness in school communities.
Routine Immunizations
The CBE supports the AHS school-based immunization program.
Attendance
Attendance Line: 403-777-8270 ext.1 Email: AlexanderFerguson@cbe.ab.ca
It is important that you call the school for each day your child is going to be absent or arriving late. Please report all absences to the Attendance Line, which is available 24 hours every day.
Allergies
We have several students at our school with life threatening nut allergies. We cannot guarantee that these students will not come into contact with nuts or nut residue at our school. For their safety we ask that students do not bring nut products to school.
Be Prepared for Calgary's Weather!
Please ensure that your child is properly dressed for the weather; with boots, mitts, hats, warm jackets or rain gear when necessary. On days that are extremely cold or wet, students will be supervised inside the school, rather than on the playground.
Leaving School During Lunch?
If your child is registered in the Lunchroom and will be away during the noon hour, please call 403-777-8270, ext. 3 and leave a voicemail. You will also need to sign out your child in the yellow binder (located in the office or on the hallway desk).
Lice
There may be times during the school year when we have cases of head lice.
If your child has head lice, please contact the school and let us know. If your child has been exposed to lice at school we will notify you.
As a precaution, we ask all parents to check their child’s head frequently for a few weeks after any exposure. You can find more information on lice from myhealth.alberta.ca.
