Students in the Calgary Board of Education travel to school in a variety of ways, including walking, taking yellow buses or Calgary Transit or being driven by parents/guardians. Their safety is important, no matter how they get to school and home again.

Cars

Parents please do your part to ensure student safety by respecting traffic regulations and by parking well away from the crosswalk. When parking, please respect the traffic signs, as there are many restricted parking areas around our school. Please do not park or drop off your children in the staff parking lot, as it is not a safe area. Safety is first; convenience is second.

Supervision and Playground Safety

Students are invited to be on the playground no earlier than 15 minutes before school in the morning (8:27 AM) and 15 minutes before school in the afternoon (12:27 PM) during which time students are supervised by staff. Appropriate behaviour and language are expected at all times on school property. Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and roller blades are not allowed on the playground. Parents/caregivers should directly supervise their children on the playground after school.  Otherwise, students must go directly home or to a caregiver's home following school dismissal. Students should not re-enter the building to use the phone or washroom, as school personnel are not available for supervision. Before and After School and Lunch Care staff are only responsible for those students who are formally registered in the program.
