School Council Meeting

April 15 we have our School Council meeting at 7:00 PM, in the Learning Commons. Please plan to trek through the snow and join us! If you aren’t able to make it over, please consider joining us online. Ms. Harder will be presenting more about our Jeff Stockton Storytelling residency. We’ll be sharing the gathered feedback from the last two council meetings, and talking about the remainder of this school year. If you can’t make tonight work please mark your calendars for May 7, we have our AGM meetings for both council and society that night. We NEED parents to attend those meetings. Thank you.

Grade 6 Farewell

Calling all grade 6 parents. The grade 6 farewell will be happening at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 28. If you are interested in supporting this event, by organizing and setting up decorations, helping with refreshments, or anything else that might add to the special occasion, please let Mr. Rehak or Mr. Ramada know. For the past few years we have also had a grade 6 yearbook, this is a volunteer run souvenir for our grade 6 parents. If you would be interested in taking on this opportunity, please let Mr. Rehak or Mr. Ramada know.

School Dance

Council is also organizing a school dance on Thursday June 4. If you’d like to help with that, please let Ms. Sharpe know and you will be connected to the school council. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Thanks for your support.

School Instructional Hours and Bell Times

A reminder that when the school doors open at 8:38 AM each morning it is expected that students will be at school and ready to get inside. Instructional time begins at 8:42 AM, therefore if you child is arriving at 8:42 AM they will be missing instruction. As the weather gets nicer (well it was), we are noticing that more students are arriving slightly later. It’s hard to get to sleep with the lighter evenings, if you could set alarms for 5 minutes earlier each morning we would appreciate it. Check our Bell Times information page. Thank you

Storytelling Performance

Our Jeff Stockton storytelling residency is well on its way to being ready to share with families on Wednesday April 29 and Thursday April 30. Timing, for both evenings, will be 5:30 PM to start. The front doors will open around 5:15 PM for all families to head in to the gymnasium. There will be a welcoming there prior to students, followed by families, heading to their performance space. Most students are NOT performing in their regular classroom. Watch for an invite coming home the week of April 20 with the location and date of your child’s performance. We are aiming for everyone to be heading home by 7:00 PM.

I look forward to seeing parents soon.
