Brrrr...
Good morning! Jube School started today. What's Jube School you ask? It's a program that connects students with professional artists. Today all students got the opportunity to meet Aaron. Most students spent time with him learning about shadows and the shadow screen. Please ask your child about the exciting things they learned today. If your child's class didn't have time in the gym with Aaron today, he did find time to introduce himself to all classes, and will work with those classes next Monday. This residency happens throughout February, March, and April, culminating in our evening performances on Thursday May 1. This experience promises to be interesting and educational!
Jube School is an amazing experience, it's also expensive. Thanks to the backing and support from our Parent Association this opportunity is provided to all students free of charge. The funds ($13,000+) are all from our last casino. This casino (AGLC) funds were also used for all students to be able to participate in the Fit Set Ninja experience last week. If you are able, please sign up to volunteer for the next casino (April 7 and 8). Without volunteers like you we will no be able to provide as many experiences to all our students. Thank you to everyone who has already signed up, and for all families continuing support.
If you are not able to volunteer for the casino, or if you just love chocolate, another way to support our school is to purchase through the Purdy's Spring Fundraiser. Fundraisers, such as Purdy's, provide unrestricted funds for the association to support the school. This year unrestricted funds paid for agendas for each of our grade 1 - 6 students. Families, teachers, and students have told us that these agendas are the best way to communicate each day between school and home.
Save the Date
If you don't already have it on your calendar... please record Thursday March 6 as an evening to spend at the school dancing. More information will be coming home in agendas (aren't they helpful) soon.
Thanks for all your continued support, and for getting your children to school each day, even in the February cold.
Stay warm,
AFS School Staff
