Good morning Alexander Ferguson families!

This is our last full week of school, WOW! Thank you for all your support this school year, we are thankful to be a part of your school community.

For our Stampede Breakfast this Friday we are excited to share that Margaret Holloway, the 2024 Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess, will also be joining us, and Brooke Fielding, 2024 Stampede Princess for our festivities. We look forward to welcoming them, and all AFS families, on Friday morning.
School Council has worked hard to provide this opportunity for us, if you are able to volunteer please sign up here. We are hopeful that all shifts will be filled so that the volunteers will also have an opportunity to sit down and enjoy some pancakes. See you on Friday, don't forget your cowboy hats ;)

Our last fun lunch of the year is tomorrow. The deadline to register was last week. If you are interested, please mark your calendars for September to sign up for all Healthy Hunger opportunities during the 2024-2025 school year. (It gets reset over the summer so don't do it now!)

Do you have any Library books at home?

If so please send them back to school. Mrs. Stoker, and volunteers, are hard at work accounting for all books. If you received a notice saying your child has a book outstanding and you believe it has already been returned please contact Mrs. Stoker at ccstoker@cbe.ab.ca Thank you for your support to provide all our students access to a variety of library books.

Please watch your email for an updated fee summary for your child.

Thank you to everyone who has paid for their central and school based fees so far this school year.
If you are in need of support to pay your fees, please reach out. The central fees (lunchroom and school supplies) cannot be adjusted at the school level, you must apply for a waiver through your myCBE account. The school based fees (field trips, art fee, recorders, etc.) can be adjusted at the school. Please reach out to Helen, via email or phone call to the office to set up an appointment. Please share the fee summary you have received, including how much you are able to pay for each listed amount and why you are in need of support at this time. Fees do not disappear at the end of the school year, they stay with your child's account for their entire time at CBE. If you need support please ask, we are here to help. Thank you.

Thank you to all families who reached out regarding the hungry student. We have not yet determined who the child is, we also have no had any food go missing (yet) this week. Thank you for talking to your children. If your child is the one (or more) who are hungry and helping themselves to other food at the school please let me know. We are able to help, other families have also offered help. You are a part of our school community and we are all here to support each other.

The teachers have planned an extended Phys. Ed. and Wellness Activity Event to follow the Stampede Breakfast this Friday, June 21. Students will be outside and free to explore a variety of activities from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Please ensure your child has appropriate sun protection, a hat, and water bottle. An extra “pocket snack” is encouraged. The Kindergarten AM students are also encouraged to attend starting at 10 AM. Parents of these students with police clearance are invited to stay with their child. Please let Ms. Weber know if you and/ or your child will be able to attend.

A reminder to all volunteers, please sign in at the office when you arrive and wear your volunteer nametag when inside the school, or on school grounds, during the school day. Thank you!

Have a great Tuesday.

Your AFS Administrative Team
Helen Sharpe and Matthew Littel
