Good morning AFS families,
It’s school council tonight! We will be meeting online, please click here to join us. Our meeting starts at 7pm, the online link should work from about 6:45 onwards.

March is our engagement month. We are hoping that all families will be able to take some time over the past few weeks to complete our survey. We are looking for input related to our SDP (School Development Plan) and School Based Fees.
Last meeting we spent time reviewing the SDP. If you’d like to review the SDP please check it out on our website. If you missed our meeting you can check out the powerpoint presentation. We recommend reviewing the third page of the SDP document along with the powerpoint as they align.
Tonight we will be reviewing our school based fees for this year, and our plans for moving forward next year. We are looking for input. You can see our 2023-2024 report to parents on fees on our website if you’d like to see the final figures from last year. You will also be able to review the ppt tomorrow on the school website.
Tomorrow morning our engagement survey will go live. Please plan to share your insight and opinions. We believe that we all need to work together as the AFS community to provide the best place for learning for all students. We will send out a few reminders, thank you for taking some time to provide your input.

Christy Jordan Fenton, author of Fatty Legs, will be here on Monday afternoon to share stories with all our students. K – 3 students will attend at 1:00pm while grades 4 – 6 students will be in the gym starting at 2:25.
Parents are invited to join the 2:25 session, if available. Much like an assembly, seats will be set up at the back of the gym, students on the floor, and Christy presenting at the front. We look forward to welcoming all parents who can join us.
Elder Kerrie will spend the day in the Learning Commons on Tuesday with all students. Adults are invited to join their own children in the learning commons throughout the day, please watch for information in the weekly teacher messages as to times for each class. Families are also welcome to join Elder Kerrie at 3pm for an adult time, to learn from her, ask questions, and make connections.
Booster Juice. Thank you to the generosity of many families throughout the year Parent Society is able to fund a Booster Juice smoothie for all students on Wednesday. If you do NOT want your child to receive a Booster Juice, we need to know by TOMORROW. If you would like your child to bring theirs home to enjoy after their daily fast, we need to know.
All students will receive a smoothie. If you have placed an order through Healthy Hunger your child will receive the flavour that was paid for. If you have not placed an order through Healthy Hunger then your child will enjoy a Strawberry Sunshine smoothie. All smoothies are dairy free.
Please let me know ASAP if you do NOT want your child to receive a smoothie. Thank you.
The daytime slots for casino volunteers are all full – THANK YOU! If you are able to support our school by volunteering for an evening slot please sign up today. 6 openings remain for Monday April 7, and an additional 6 openings also remain for Tuesday April 8. A double thank you to those who have signed up for 2 shifts. Everyone’s support is greatly appreciated.
