Parent-Teacher Conferences
It’s conference day, we look forward to welcoming everyone tonight and tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, Mrs. Wackett is not available at this time. If you have questions about the music curriculum and your child’s learning please talk to Ms. Sharpe or Mr. Littel and we will get you answers related to each classroom.
We encourage all families to bring indoor shoes this evening. We are trying to keep our new learning commons carpet clean, your help with removing your outdoor shoes will be greatly appreciated.
The book fair will be open during conference times, Mrs. Stoker is available to answer any questions you might have. Thank you for your support. A percentage of all sales is returned to the school in books and other resources.
Traffic Update
You may have noticed new crosswalk signs popping up around town, in the middle of pedestrian crossings. At council meeting last week there was a question about the intersection at 26th Street and 16th Avenue and whether or not we should expect a sign to pop up there. CBE planning and transportation department got in touch with the City of Calgary engineers and learned that there will NOT be a sign placed at that intersection. After previous evaluation it was determined that with the curb extensions the road is too narrow so adding an in-street sign would create turning issues.
SDP, SIRR, Fee Report
On or before 9am tomorrow you will be able to view our SDP (School Development Plan), SIRR (School Improvement Results Report) and the Report to Parents on Fees through our website. Please plan to take a look. Much of the information has been shared during school council meetings, if you have any questions please plan to attend our next council meeting on January 30, or ask questions when next we see you!
Winter Assemblies
We are very thankful that Ms. Erin Elies has joined us for the next few weeks while Mrs. Wackett is away. A lot of work goes into preparing for our winter assemblies, Mrs. Wackett had all the students well organized, and Ms. Elies is working to continue the preparation for so all students are ready for our performances on Wednesday December 11. We will have 2 performances, 10 AM and 1:30 PM. The concerts will be identical, except for the kindergarten classes. At 10am ALL grades 1 – 6 students will perform, as well as the AM kindergarten class. At 1:30pm ALL grades 1 – 6 students will perform the same pieces they shared in the morning, as well as the PM kindergarten class. We look forward to welcoming any and all family members who are able to attend these performances.
A reminder that there is no school tomorrow. We look forward to welcoming all students back on Monday morning. See you tonight!
