Hello AFS Families,
A great big thank you to everyone who was able to join us this morning for one of our two music assemblies. The students enjoyed performing, using their voices and other instruments. We are so very thankful for the supportive school community.
Great news, the water is good to go. We are thankful that Mr. Ming takes such good care of us and makes sure that we are safe in our school each day.
We are also thankful to our school council and parent society for putting up all the lights in our gym and hallway, as well as providing holiday lunch to all students next Thursday! Each student has been asked their preferences for pizza (cheese, pepperoni, hawaiian, no dairy, gluten free). In addition to pizza each child (and staff member) will receive an apple juice box, orange, and candy cane. If you do NOT want your child to receive any or all of those items please let their homeroom teacher know as soon as possible. Thank you.
This Thursday is Mr. Sam's last day at Alex Ferguson until February 2026. He has been a practicum student in room 1 with Ms. Underwood and will be missed by all. He might still be around a bit more, when not at university he is planning on volunteering at AFS! Best wishes with your studies Mr. Sam, we look forward to welcoming you back in February.
In January we will also be welcoming a few practicum social worker students from the University of Calgary. Exact timing has yet to be determined, we are thankful to be able to welcome practicum students into our building.
Have a great rest of your week.
