Good morning AFS Families,

It was wonderful to see everyone back in the building last week. The warm welcome was appreciated, by both staff and students. We trust everyone had a fun and safe weekend celebrating Halloween. The Halloween gathering in the gym was a great way for all the students to enjoy some time together and share some laughs (Mrs. Hurst tells funny jokes).

Welcome Mr Sam

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Samuel Lloyd to our school. He will be completing his Field III practicum experience in room 1 with Ms. Underwood. Here are a few words of introduction:

My academic foundation is rooted in the fine arts. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), which has provided me with a strong background in art theory and practical application across various media. While my degree is in art, my experience extends to fostering engaging learning environments. I have a genuine passion for working with children and believe my academic training, particularly in creative and inter-personal skills, will allow me to contribute meaningfully to all students’ educational journey.  Outside of my formal education, I am an active creator in my own studio, pursuing a wide range of artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography. I believe this deep, personal commitment to the arts is a valuable asset I can bring to the classroom. Creativity and self-expression are vital components of development. I am very much looking forward to this valuable learning experience and contributing positively to the students at Alexander Ferguson School.

IPP's

For those students who have IPPs, they were sent home last week with your child. Signatures are required, if you have any questions please contact your child’s homeroom teacher to set up a meeting. Thank you. If you don’t know what an IPP is, then this does not apply to your child at this time.

Coupon Books

Thank you to everyone who purchased coupon books through the school council. They were sent home last week to those families who purchased them. Contact council about the extra 5 books, if interested.
