Good morning AFS families,

Halloween

Halloween at the end of the week and we’re looking forward to celebrating at AFS on Friday, October 30. Students will be provided time during the school day to change into their costumes as required. They can also choose to wear an orange and black outfit, their pyjamas, or their regular clothing. To keep the day safe, comfortable and inclusive for everyone, we askThe  that students and families keep the following in mind:

  • No gore
  • No weapons of any kind, including toy or costume weapons
  • No masks
  • Use discretion when choosing attire, remembering that our school includes students with a range of sensitivities and ages
  • Choose costumes that are bathroom friendly and easy to get in and out of
  • Make sure costumes allow for safe, easy movement and won’t get in the way of regular class work or PE class

Thank you for helping make this a fun and welcoming day for all!

Winter Clothing Swap

Did you find any clothing that is too small for the children in your household this weekend? If so, please consider donating it to the AFS Winter Clothing Swap this Friday, October 30. Please bring items to the school at 12:30. If you are on site please help our council chair, Christine, and society president, Natasha, set up the tables and display the clothing. The items are available to any and all AFS family members. Please bring what you can and take what you need. Any remaining items will be donated within the community. Thank you for your support.

Remembrance Day

Later this morning you will be receiving an email from the school office regarding our Remembrance Day Assembly. Please take a minute to read the notice from our teacher organizers and respond as appropriate.
